Neal Carter, a visionary internet marketing consultant with over 25 years of experience, is recognized for his profound understanding and successful implementation of SEO and web design. Since his start in the field in 1994, he has been at the forefront of online marketing innovations and strategies.
Neal's journey started with the creation of his first website for his cycling and fitness business, Oregon Cyclery and Sprockets Cycling and Fitness. Dissatisfied with the costly and unfruitful traditional marketing methods, Neal turned to the then-nascent World Wide Web as an economical solution. His innovative venture proved a great success, with the business witnessing global orders only a few weeks post-launch.
After the successful expansion of his own business, Neal transitioned into the role of a consultant, assisting clients all over North America and Europe in achieving their internet marketing goals. His curiosity about how things work makes him an adept problem solver and a valued asset to his clients. His work spans various industries, including life sciences, retail, manufacturing, higher education, healthcare, and more.
As the Digital Marketing Consultant at West Bay Web, Neal provides comprehensive internet marketing services for small and medium-sized businesses, including SEO, e-commerce, email marketing, and website design. His duties span from conducting SEO audits and strategizing SEO campaigns to performing keyword research and competitor analysis. Neal works extensively with HTML and CSS code editing, content writing, and campaign performance analysis.
Neal was the Director of Digital Marketing at Certified Training Institute, a private school offering online continuing education courses for various skilled trades. He led SEO audits and content improvements, managed Google Ads PPC campaigns, and worked with developers for continuous site improvements.
As Webmaster at Owens Community College, Neal was responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the college's websites. His roles included providing direction for online communication projects, working with the Office of the President on special tech-related projects, providing technical assistance for internet-related projects, and ensuring optimal website performance.
Some of his significant projects at Owens Community College include the Academic Program Analysis, where he researched academic programs using Google AdWords Keyword Planner, and the First Year Initiative E-portfolio, where he served as the lead IT project manager. This project required working closely with other colleges and universities, including the University of Michigan, Rutgers, SUNY, Ohio State, and the Ohio Board of Regents. He also co-created an interactive presentation for the Homeland Security Center for Emergency Preparedness Center, helped develop marketing material for the college's outreach trip to China, and conducted Website Search Engine Optimization.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Neal actively contributed to the community. He served as an Advisory Board Member for the World Organization of Webmasters from 2004 to 2005. For ten years, Neal also served as a Board Member for the MS 150 Bike to the Bay charity bike ride, where he helped organize the event and provided mechanical support services to riders. He acted as the Northwest Ohio Cycling Coordinator for the Ohio Sports Festival, handling various event logistics from securing race venues to managing volunteers. He also was a USCF (now USA Cycling) coach and was a Category 2 track and road cyclist.
Neal Carter's journey in the field of Internet Marketing, from being a business owner to becoming a consultant and a leader, exemplifies his innovative spirit, strong work ethic, and deep understanding of online marketing. His commitment to helping people transform their ideas into reality has significantly impacted the growth of numerous businesses across a wide array of industries.
